Queen Bee Naming Contest

August 9, 2021

Queen Bee Naming Contest

We can not have a nameless queen! So, for the next two weeks, we are holding a Queen Bee naming contest. The first seven days will be to scout out your best Bee names (August 15). The next seven days will be for voting for the most popular name for our resident Queen bee. (August 23)

Whoever has suggested the winning name for our queen will receive a complimentary lunch from the Café and a jar of honey from our very own hive!

In the event more than one person suggests the winning name, one name will be chosen at random to bee the winner!

What is a Queen Bee’s job?

The queen is the sole lady boss in charge of laying 2,000 eggs a day, while her entourage of female bees tends to her hydration, nutrition, and hygiene. The queen has the ability to choose what type of egg she lays, a female worker, a male drone bee, or a potential queen bee. In addition, her unique shape gives her the ability to drop an egg in the middle of a wax cell where it can develop safely in the care of the worker bees.

Be sure to share with everyone in your office! Each employee gets one submission. Time to put on your best bee pun thinking cap!
